These terms apply to every keeper who sells animals on Farmgate Rwanda, a marketplace run by N.F VICTORY COMPANY Ltd (RDB 106303443). They sit alongside our general terms of use and our privacy notice. By creating a keeper account you accept them.
1. Who can sell
- You are 18 or older and you own the animals you list, or you have the owner's permission to sell them.
- You register with your real name and your own phone number. One account per person.
- Farmgate calls every new keeper before approving the account, and may visit the farm. We can refuse or close an account, and we tell you why.
2. Honest listings
- The type, breed, age, sex, weight, health and vaccination details you give are true to the best of your knowledge.
- Photos are recent photos of the actual animal you are selling, not of another animal or from the internet.
- The price you enter is your real asking price. Buyers see it.
- Farmgate checks every listing and every photo before it goes live, and can reject or remove one, with a reason.
3. Animal health and the law
- You do not sell animals you know to be sick, stolen, or under a veterinary movement restriction.
- You follow Rwanda's veterinary rules, including health certificates and movement permits where they are required. Farmgate may ask to see them before a sale.
- You allow the buyer, or Farmgate on the buyer's behalf, to see and check the animal before paying.
4. Farmgate's fee
- Creating an account and listing animals is free.
- When an animal sells to a buyer who came through Farmgate, you pay Farmgate a fee of 5% of the final sale price, unless a different fee was agreed with you in writing before the listing went live.
- The fee is due when the sale is completed. Buyers pay Farmgate no commission.
- Other services, such as delivery or an inspection, are optional and priced and agreed before they happen.
5. Buyers introduced by Farmgate
Farmgate finds the buyer, answers them and arranges the introduction. If a buyer reached you through Farmgate, you complete that sale through Farmgate, including any sale to the same buyer in the 12 months after the introduction. Arranging the sale privately to avoid the fee is a breach of these terms, and the fee still applies.
6. Keep your listings current
- Tell Farmgate within 24 hours when an animal is sold, reserved or no longer available.
- Answer Farmgate's calls about your animals, and keep the animal available until a viewing you agreed to.
7. Payment and delivery
How the buyer pays and how the animal is transported are agreed for each sale between the Farmgate team, you and the buyer, before any money changes hands.
8. Your contacts stay private
Farmgate never shows your phone number, email or WhatsApp to buyers. Your public profile shows your display name (for example “Jean Bosco H.”), district and sector, a short description, when you joined and whether you are verified. How we handle your data is in our privacy notice.
9. Suspension
We may pause or close an account for false information, photos of another animal, missed viewings, going around Farmgate with introduced buyers, or selling animals that are sick or not yours. Where we believe a crime such as theft or fraud is involved, we may report it to the Rwanda Investigation Bureau.
10. Changes and law
We may update these terms. When we do, we tell keepers before the change applies and ask you to accept the new version. These terms are governed by the laws of Rwanda.
